While hosting the Pro Football Hall of Fame dinner, Michigan alum Rich Eisen couldn’t resist the opportunity to roast the Ohio State Buckeyes.

NFL Network’s Rich Eisen has spent much of the past decade-plus enduring misery as a Michigan Wolverines alum against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

After the Wolverines’ 42-27 win last November, though, the beloved personality couldn’t resist an opportunity to poke back at the Scarlet and Gray in a way only someone in the Maize and Blue could do.

At the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremonial dinner, Eisen trolled the Buckeyes about the contest, bringing up Hassan Haskins and his magical day of five touchdowns while relishing over the end of years of Wolverine misery suffered at the hands of the Buckeyes. Needless to say, the Buckeye faithful in attendance were not pleased.

Rich Eisen savagely trolls Ohio State by referencing at Pro Football Hall of Fame dinner ceremony

Phew, it has been a long time coming, and in fairness to Rich Eisen and the Michigan Wolverines, they are the ones who get to enjoy the moment, at least until the next meeting. They won the game and the one who laughs last laughs best. That’s just the golden rule of competition and life. Ohio State doesn’t view it like that.

The view from the folks of Columbus is that the folks in Ann Arbor are enjoying this a bit too much, knowing good and well have long the Buckeyes have dominated in recent memory. Plus, the next meeting between the two will be in Columbus, where the Wolverines haven’t won since Drew Henson and David Terrell ran the show.

Either way, Rich Eisen provided a good laugh, at least in the eyes of Michigan fans, who have yearned for this moment. As for the Ohio State crowd, they have to bear it, and they may end up hearing it again unless they win the next meeting. Sports are fun, right? As are rivalries.
