No. 3: New England Patriots

Wait, what? The Patriots? Yes, you read that correctly.

Bill Belichick may need to put in a call for Roquan Smith. After all, the Patriots are one of the few teams in the league that need a star at the linebacker position to settle in within the defense, and given Smith’s age and production, in addition to his modern style of play, Belichick might need to consider making this move.

What would it take, though? First, it would take at least a second-round pick to start with. A first rounder is off the table. New England has plenty of draft capital.

With Mac Jones still on the rookie contract, and Belichick needing a playmaker at the linebacker spot, New England need not hesitate to make this move. It can work out for both sides, and at this point, why not? What could the Patriots really lose in this deal?

The production is there, and the value is there. Make the deal.
