Florida football gained a massive addition to their defense, flipping 4-star linebacker Jaden Robinson away from South Carolina and into the swamp.

Florida football have made it clear that they will not bow to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC East, and now help is on the way with a change of heart.

Four-star linebacker Jaden Robinson out of Lake City will stay within the state and join the Gators after initially committing to South Carolina. The move now gives Florida a better chance to compete within the division and hold their own against their rivals/defending national champions.

Florida football keeps 4-star LB Jaden Robinson in state, flip commitment from South Carolina,

Robinson is now the 17th member of Florida’s recruiting class, which ranks No.13 in the country. 247 Sports currently has Robinson listed as the No. 32 linebacker in the class of 2023 and the No. 70 overall recruit from Florida. Additionally, he is the first linebacker recruit for the team.

Upon choosing Florida, Robinson had nothing but praise for the Gators’ staff and offered his thoughts in an interview with Gator Country on where he will play in the Gators’ defense when he suits up for them.

"“Just linebacker right now,” Robinson said on what the coaches have told him about where he would play. “They haven’t said Mike or Will yet but that will be up to Coach Bateman. They like that I play well at the Mike, and they need me. Mike P [Mike Peterson] and Coach [Jay] Bateman,” he said on the coaches he was around the most. “They’re great coaches and great guys. They have great energy.”"

Robinson will be part of an excellent recruiting class by the Gators in 2023 that includes cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson, wide receiver Aidan Mizzell, and running back Treyaun Webb. There is still time left for the Gators to turn more people to the Swamp potentially, but for now, they managed to secure one of their own and avoid him leaving the state.
