The Arizona Diamondbacks won’t be the playoffs this year but can get a look at their future as they’re set to call Stone Garrett up to the bigs.

Sources tell FanSided that the Arizona Diamondbacks are getting to September call-ups a couple of weeks early as they are bringing outfielder Stone Garrett up to the big leagues.

The team will be bringing up Garrett from the Triple-A Reno Aces.

It’s been a mixed bag for the D’Backs this season as they haven’t found the success with their record in 2022 that they’d hoped for but have seen good signs from young talent, particularly in the starting rotation.

The biggest issue has been at the plate. But the hard-hitting Garrett, 26, will hopefully help to answer those problems down the stretch over the last month and a half of the regular season.

With Triple-A Reno this season, Garrett has hit 28 home runs with 95 RBI. The former eighth-round pick by the Miami Marlins has also stolen 15 bases on the year while slashing .275/.332/.568 on the year.

He’s clearly a player who has started to find his groove at the highest level of the minor leagues, so now we’ll see if he can continue that success at the major league level and give the Diamondbacks yet another reason to look optimistically toward the future of the organization.
