This awesome dime pass from Marine Johannes sparked the New York Liberty’s fourth quarter comeback against the Chicago Sky in Game 1 of the opening round of the WNBA playoffs.

The WNBA playoffs kicked off with a huge upset victory at the expense of the defending champions. The two-seeded Chicago Sky hosted the seventh-seeded New York Liberty, and looked to be on the verge of victory. Yet, it was the Liberty who picked up the 98-91 victory after trailing 91-85.

How did the comeback attempt by the Liberty begin? Well, it happened on an impressive dime pass from Marine Johannes. With a little over three minutes remaining in regulation, Johannes dribbled across the three-point line and threw a overhead pass to Natasha Howard, who stood alone in the paint for an easy layup. The Sky would not score another point again.

That layup by Natasha Howard was two of the Liberty’s 13 unanswered points to pick up the win, New York’s first since Sept. 23, 2015. Now, they are one win away from reaching the semifinals.

Johannes played 27 minutes on Wednesday night, recording eight points (3-for-5 from field), seven assists, two rebounds, and two steals.

Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu led the way, scoring 22 points (8-for-12 from field, 3-for-6 from three-point line), grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out six assists, and recording two steals in 36 minutes.

New York has the chance to end the opening round with a Game 2 victory this Saturday, Aug. 20.
