Urban Meyer is returning to Big Noon Kickoff, not that anybody ever really missed him.

Fresh off being the worst thing to ever happen to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Urban Meyer is returning to a TV set near you this college football season.

That’s right, baby! Meyer is making his triumphant return to the set of Big Noon Kickoff. He replaces his replacement Bob Stoops, alongside Rob Stone, Brady Quinn, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart. FOX made a bold, bold choice here, but perhaps an even bolder one by having Big Noon Kickoff travel every week of the season to a college campus near you. This is going to end well..

Unless FOX wants to go to every Ohio State home game this season, the booing will never cease.

Urban Meyer came to make a bang and is returning to the set of Big Noon Kickoff

Despite being the worst NFL head coach in the league’s 100-plus-year history, Meyer was actually pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good on the set of Big Noon Kickoff the first time. He knows what he is talking about from an analyst perspective, but that does not mean his detractors will be rooting for him going forward. I mean, we all saw how he ruined a beautiful relationship with Jacksonville…

While bringing Meyer back into the fold will add a little bit of extra spice to the Big Noon Kickoff set, the only thing that matters is how Bush, Leinart, Quinn and Stone feel about the Return of the Urbs. If they are down with it, then let’s enjoy the pre-game show as we get well-lubricated before Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt take us home. Weirdly, this is a way to step on College GameDay‘s turf.

With Big Ten football leaving ESPN in a few years, that puts GameDay staples like Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit in a bit of an awkward spot. Though Lee Corso is a living legend, these last few years have been hard to watch. If FOX dominates the noon window with its assortment of games, people may change their viewing habits, as opposed to waiting for the old headgear pick.

Meyer may never coach again, but his returning to the studio set could reshape his awful image.
