Is Dak Prescott being underrated after loss of Amari Cooper?

Dak Prescott looks like he is primed for his best season yet with the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys starter, Dak Prescott, is ready to retain his NFC East championship entering the 2022 NFL season. According to reports, it appears that way. Per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Prescott has been impressing in camp after a tumultuous 2021 season.

In addition, he also dealt with injuries to his key receiving corps, as he looks ahead to life without Amari Cooper, who now plays for the Cleveland Browns.

Although Prescott will have to adapt when the chips are down, he feels confident that he will only grow from these experiences and get better as a quarterback long-term.

“I don’t necessarily get frustrated,” Prescott said (h/t Around the NFL). “That’s what this is about, this is exactly about that time to work and make other guys step up and take advantage of their opportunities.”

And for Prescott, it gives himself and Cowboys fans hope for the future, as the team hopes to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995. Dallas won three championships in the 90s, led by head coach Jimmy Johnson and current broadcaster Troy Aikman.

In a division that has historically seen the NFC East change division winners like a game of hot potato, Dallas hopes to go back-to-back and make a deep run in the playoffs come Jan. 2023.

Dak Prescott put up big numbers in 2021

A big part of the Cowboys and their run to the playoffs was the consistency of Prescott week-to-week. However, what was even more impressive were his individual statistics. For the second time in his NFL career, he threw for over 4,000 yards, 37 touchdowns, and had a QBR of 104.2.

If Prescott can maintain similar numbers, it’s hard to fathom the Cowboys winning anything less than at least 10 games, even with the loss of Cooper.

However, only time will tell.
