Tom Brady returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, and addressed the theory that he took time off to perform on the Masked Singer.

Tom Brady dominated NFL headlines this offseason by announcing his retirement and then his un-retirement. But during training camp, Brady stepped away from the team for personal reasons. That led to a conspiracy theory being spread across social media that he left the team to participate in the FOX show, the Masked Singer.

On Monday, Aug. 22, Brady returned to the Buccaneers after stepping away from the team for a total of 11 days. Following practice, Brady took to his Twitter account to hilariously dismiss the rumors that he participated on the singing competition show.

Brady’s comments were part of a response to a tweet from his underwear brand account, which featured someone doing wheelies on a motorcycle in nothing but a helmet and their underwear.

Earlier in the offseason, the Buccaneers were seemingly going to be looking for Brady’s successor this offseason. Instead, the seven-time Super Bowl champion ended retirement after approximately one month, and the chase to build another contender began in Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers have prepared to make yet another trip to the Super Bowl. After all, the team did bring in former division rival Julio Jones to give Brady another pass-catching option alongside Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

With Brady back, the team will not only get ready for their preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts, but also their season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 11.

When it comes to the Masked Singer, Brady says that he was not on the show.
