3 biggest cuts that could come back to haunt the Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs trimmed down their roster to 53-players on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Here are three cuts that could come back to haunt them.
All 32 NFL teams revealed their initial Week 1 rosters by the Tuesday, Aug. 30 deadline. For the deadline, teams had to bring down their rosters to 53-players, but then had the chance to sign free agents on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
The Kansas City Chiefs were able to bring their roster down to the 53-players, but they did have to surrender some talent. They were able to re-add names like Daurice Fountain, Danny Shelton, and Zayne Anderson to their practice squad on Wednesday.
As for the players who the Chiefs couldn’t re-sign, these three could come back to haunt them.
3. Matt Dickerson, DT
On Wednesday, waivers officially went through, and teams found out if they were able to secure those they put in a claim for. Kansas City did not have any of their claims go through, but they did lose one player on the defensive side of the ball.
Defensive tackle Matt Dickerson was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Falcons. He gets to reunite with Dean Pees, who was his defensive coordinator for is first two seasons in the league. Pees is the current defensive coordinator in Atlanta, where Arthur Smith, the former offensive coordinator for Tennessee, is the current head coach.

Dickerson signed on with the Chiefs back on Aug. 8. He played in Kansas City’s preseason debut vs. the Chicago Bears, where he recorded three solo tackles. Dickerson also played in the second preseason contest against the Washington Commanders, where he recorded one defended pass.
While he may be a late add, it is never a good thing for a team to watch one of their released players get claimed by another team and thrive. Will it happen with Dickerson? We should find out once the season progresses.
