Alabama football: Rat poison at an all-time high, according to Nick Saban

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban believes rat poison is at an all-time high heading into this season.

Even though the Alabama football team hosts Utah State on Saturday night, Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban says all the media wants to talk about is the Crimson Tide’s Week 2 game vs. Texas.

Pure rat poison.

If there is any phrase that has become synonymous with the greatest college football head coach of all time, rat poison would be it. Fate would have it, Saban deems rat poison to be at an all-time high entering this season. With the Aggies coming up on Saturday, Saban is not going to talk to you about what Steve Sarkisian is doing with his Texas Longhorns these days, so quit asking him!

"“I think the rat poison this year, not to bring up a sore subject, it’s worse than ever,” said Saban to Mike Rodak of AL.com. “I’ve had more people ask me about how we’re going to do against Texas this week than how we’re going to do against Utah State.”"

Utah State is coming off a too-close-for-comfort 31-20 Week 0 home win vs. the UConn Huskies.

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban is not about this year’s rat poison

While it is understandable for the media to be excited for Alabama’s big Week 2 game vs. Texas, Saban is not having it. He could not care less that his former offensive coordinator is coming to town for a certain defeat in two weeks. None of that will matter if the Crimson Tide do not take care of business vs. Blake Anderson’s team. Utah State is not going to be a walk in the park either.

Even if Alabama wins comfortably over Utah State, Saban will 100 percent find material on-film to then light up one of his coaches with one of his fire and brimstone ass chewings. It is not so bad if you take a bite of a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie in between rant segments, alright. Are these ass chewings necessary? It really depends on if you want to win all of your games this year or not.

Ultimately, focus will inevitably be what defines this year’s Alabama team. On paper, the Crimson Tide should win all of its games and go undefeated as College Football Playoff national champions. Not to say they are going to lose to either Utah State or Texas, but perhaps a team could knock them off in conference play or in the postseason later on. Saban has his eyes on the ultimate prize.

Rat poison be damned, Saban and his Alabama football team is about to be an absolute wagon!
