Alabama football: Will Anderson is going to give the entire state of Utah nightmares

With the college football season beginning, not only fans be watching their favorite schools, but also scout some of the talent eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft. An easy place to look is on the Alabama Crimson Tide. While eyes will be on quarterback Bryce Young, they are also on linebacker Will Anderson Jr.

Alabama opened up their season against the Utah State Aggies, and it was an easy night at the office that is Bryant-Denny Stadium. Anderson made the impact of all impacts, as he completely stuffed running back Pailate Makakona.

Alabama football: Will Anderson wreaks havoc against Utah State

Leaving Anderson unblocked at the line of scrimmage — not the best of ideas. He is considered to be one of the top overall prospects in the 2023 draft class, after all.

Last year, Anderson recorded 101 total tackles (31 for loss), 17.5 sacks, and three defended passes in 15 games. On Saturday night, Anderson recorded three total tackles and two assisted tackles in Alabama’s 55-0 win over Utah State.

To say the Aggies could not do anything on offense is an understatement, as they picked up just 57 passing yards and 79 rushing yards. That was it. Meanwhile, Alabama’s offense accumulated 281 yards through the air and 278 yards on the ground.

If an NFL team holds the first-overall pick in next year’s draft and does not need a quarterback, Anderson should be considered at that spot. When watching the rest of Alabama’s games for this season, keep an eye on No. 31 on defense.
