Boston Scott is in a similar situation as Mike Davis. Miles Sanders is listed as questionable for Week 1. He is practicing, but head coach Nick Sirianni said there is no timetable for his return, according to ESPN’s Tim McManus.

If Sanders is out, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott are expected to play expanded roles. Gainwell is rostered in more leagues, but there are signs that Scott could hold more value in fantasy football leagues.

Last season, Scott started four games with Sanders out. Across those four games, Scott averaged 14.8 fantasy points per game.

In addition, Scott has taken some first-team reps during the preseason ahead of Gainwell.

In the Eagles’ run-heavy offense, Scott and Gainwell will both carry fantasy value against the Lions. In 2021, the Eagles had the second-most rushing attempts in the NFL.

Last season, the Lions struggled to stop the run, as they gave up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Sanders’s status should be monitored by fantasy owners. If he cannot play, both Scott and Gainwell will become intriguing fantasy options.

Scott carries RB2 upside. He is a player worth watching in the majority of fantasy football leagues.
