Clemens was hyped to strike out Ohtani, which is something that’s only happened 24.1 percent of the time this season for Ohtani.

Clemens could be following in his legendary father Roger Clemens’ footsteps. Roger Clemens played for 24 seasons and had a very successful career, which he played for the longest stretch with the Boston Red Sox.

Kody Clemens is a utility player and has played left field, third base, second base, first base, pitcher and designated hitter this season, so he may not be primarily a pitcher like his father was. However, he’s proving that he has the potential to do well, and, overall, the Tigers need to improve their pitching roster.

The Tigers are currently one of the worst teams in the league, but their pitching roster is much better off than their lineup. However, they still need to improve. Among all MLB teams, they have the 11th-worst ERA (4.14), 10th-worst opponent batting average (.249) and 10th-worst WHIP (1.30).

Detroit should keep an eye on Clemens. Though he may not be producing ideal results just yet, he’s seemingly not settled into a position just yet and he could do well pitching given more time and development.

After all, he did strike out Ohtani, who is hitting .270/.360/.537 this season. And the Japanese superstar gave Clemens a present.

He autographed the strikeout ball with the inscription “What a nasty pitch!” and gave it to the Tigers hurler.
