Jerry Jones made an incoherent argument for having faith in the Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a nonsensical statement as for why he has faith in the team heading into the 2022 season.

Whether it is the regular season, playoffs or the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys are going to take the spotlight. Prior to the start of the 2022 season, the Cowboys have received some bad news, as they lost left tackle Tyron Smith and wide receiver James Washington for the start of the season. That certainly does not bode well, especially with the rival Philadelphia Eagles drastically bolstering their roster.

During an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about his optimism heading into the team’s season. The Cowboys owner, who is known for his interesting quotes, made another interesting explanation, to the surprise of no one.

Let’s be real here, the Cowboys are expected to contend not just for the NFC East title, but for the Super Bowl every season they walk into. The thing is, they have not reached the Super Bowl since the 1995 season. They haven’t even gotten to the NFC Championship Game since.

As mentioned earlier, they lost a huge part of their offense, as Smith tore his hamstring and will likely miss the majority of the season. The team signed former Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters to provide depth.

In the wide receiver room, Washington is recovering from a broken foot. Michael Gallup is not expected to play in Week 1 as he gets closer to returning from a torn ACL.

But, as has been the case for most recent years, they are in the thick of the playoff hunt. It will be interesting to see if they do so, or if they will fall out of contention.No matter the case, Jones is going to be optimistic to start the season.
