After Texas A&M lost to Appalachian State, former Aggies legend Johnny Manziel is talking about heading back to college to help save the team.
Texas A&M clearly has a ways to go before they can truly contend for the national championships Jimbo Fisher is expected to bring to College Station.
On Saturday, the Aggies suffered an upset loss to Appalachian State that made that much clear.
With an offense that stops and stutters, could it be A&M simply needs a playmaking quarterback? Someone like Johnny Manziel?
He’s one step ahead of that.

If there’s one thing that could give the Aggies a boost, it’s certainly a bit of Johnny Football playmaking on the field on offense.
Sadly for Texas A&M fans everywhere, Manziel could have four years of eligibility left and he wouldn’t be able to return for the Aggies because his eligibility clock started so many years ago.
But that’s the serious answer. And the serious answer is no fun.
If Manziel could actually take over at quarterback it could legitimately make a difference.
Haynes King was 13-of-20 for just 97 yards. He didn’t account for a touchdown on the ground or through the air.
Manziel would have been more chaotic, but the idea of him not scoring in a game like Saturday’s would be shocking.
Texas A&M does need to figure things out on offense. They have too much talent to be wasting it in losses to teams like Appalachian State. No offense to the Mountaineers, they play as hard as anyone and deserve their moment. However, the Aggies aren’t in it to give App State their moment. They’re in it to win and they have to be better.
