2. Gabe Davis says goodbye to the Super Bowl champs
Aaron Donald seething on the bench makes for great NFL drama, but having Gabe Davis throw up the peace sign in the endzone was even better.
There’s the added fact that players like Tyreek Hill and Antoine Winfield Jr. have been called out for that specific gesture, but Davis emulates Hill when he does it in that moment: it’s such a flippant, condescending way to say “Byeeee” as you streak past a defender.
But it can also be interpreted as saying goodbye to the reigning Super Bowl champions, or goodbye to underestimations of the Bills this year. Sure, a lot of analysts have Josh Allen and the Bills this year, but until everyone has that same mentality, you’ve got to shove your utter dominance in everyone’s face.
Davis wasn’t even the top receiver of the night, even with four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. That honor belonged to Stefon Diggs, who nabbed 122 yards on eight passes, including one that resulted in a touchdown.
