2. Antonio Gibson, Washington Commanders (vs. Detroit Lions)

Despite all of the negative chatter surrounding Antonio Gibson this offseason, he came out and delivered a stellar Week 1 performance, rushing 14 times for 58 yards and catching 7-of-8 targets for 72 yards. The Commanders offense as a whole looked better than it has in a while. Gibson’s 21 touches were promising from a usage standpoint, as J.D. McKissic didn’t do much in this game. It was all Gibson, both on the ground and through the air.

Gibson gets the Detroit Lions in Week 2, who gave up 216 rushing yards to the Eagles last week. Though they played a tough game and made the Eagles sweat, they couldn’t stop the run to save their lives. Gibson has a chance to exploit that vanilla matchup this week en route to anther solid week. He’ll be a RB2 in this one, and is a value in daily fantasy lineups as he’ll likely be cheaper than a lot of the starting running back options.
