Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White said he knew New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston would give them the football.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finally conquered their demons in the regular season in the New Orleans Saints. Ever since quarterback Tom Brady joined the Buccaneers, they have never won a regular-season matchup against the Saints. But that all changed on Sunday, as Tampa Bay got the 20-10 win over New Orleans, as they capitalized off three turnovers from quarterback Jameis Winston.
After the game Buccaneers linebacker Devin White spoke with David Schiele of 10 Tampa Bay, and he threw some shade at Winston, his former quarterback during his rookie season. White said that he knew Winston “would give us the football.”

White referenced the 30-for-30 season by Winston in 2019, where he threw for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns, but also had 30 interceptions. After that season, the Buccaneers let Winston hit free agency, and they signed Brady. The first year with the six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback helping the team win their second Lombardi Trophy ever.
Winston entered the game with four fractures in his back across his L1 and L4 vertebrae. In fact, the game was stuck at 3-0 throughout the entire game, but then the momentum shifted into Tampa Bay’s direction.
In the fourth quarter, Winston’s pass intended for rookie receiver Chris Olave was intercepted by cornerback Jamel Dean. Brady then threw a 28-yard touchdown pass in the end zone to wide receiver Breshad Perriman to give the Buccaneers the 10-3 lead.
On the following drive, Winston threw another pass that was intercepted by Dean, and the Buccaneers capitalized on it with a field goal.
Then, as if things could not get any worse for the Saints, Winston threw yet another pick, this time to safety Mike Edwards, who returned it for a touchdown.
The Buccaneers and Saints next meet in Week 13, which is sure to be drama-filled, based on what happened during their Week 2 contest.
