Contrary to what the social media world believes, Justin Fields did not call out Bears fans after the loss to the Packers on Sunday Night.

Leave it to social media and sensitive Twitter fingers to take what Justin Fields said about the Chicago Bears‘ loss to the Packers and misconstrue it.

After the 27-10 debacle in Lambeau on Sunday Night Football, Fields was asked the following question. “Does losing to this team, does it sting more because of this rivalry, and how much Bears fans want to win this game?”

Fields gave a response.

"“It hurts more in the locker room than for Bears fans. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re not putting in any work.”"

Naturally, social media, notably Bears fans, got triggered and believed Fields was calling out the fanbase. Here’s the problem with the outrage. It’s not warranted and not needed. He didn’t call out the fans at all.

Justin Fields did not call out Bears fans after losing to the Packers

As a matter of fact, what he said is absolutely true. It hurts more for the players than for the fans. The players are risking their lives, finances, and health for this cause. Some of these players work so hard to get where they are that losing like this affects their health.

The fans can be frustrated, and they still get to go to work the next day and can move on with this. The players don’t. If you took the time to watch the press conference, you need only look at Fields’ facial expressions, and you can see just how angry he is because of the loss and how it affects both him and his teammates. In fact, there are a few that were right in defending Fields and echo the same sentiment.

Does this loss hurt the fans? Absolutely. Don’t think for one second that the Bears losing to the Packers is anything but a brush-off. However, the fans cannot turn their anger on Justin Fields. He knows he played badly, and this is his profession.

But what he said was true, even if it came across as harsh to a few. If you don’t like losing, find a way to fix it, but don’t get angry when the truth comes out, no matter how hard it hurts.

Next. It sure looks like refs missed a clear Justin Fields touchdown on QB sneak (Video). dark
