After a breakout performance in Week 2, New York Jets rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson is among the top fantasy football pickups ahead of Week 3.

Week 2 was another crazy one in the NFL, where historic comebacks and wild barnburners defined Sunday’s action. There was also plenty of fantasy football goodness, including the Baltimore-Miami game which saw Lamar Jackson and Tyreek Hill deliver performances good enough to win the week for their fantasy owners.

There were also some new standout performers that can help you win in future weeks if you claim them off waivers on Tuesday. All players listed below are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

5. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 3 – Los Angeles Chargers WR Joshua Palmer

A hamstring injury to Keenan Allen opened starting snaps for Palmer and he capitalized on Thursday, converting 4-of-8 targets into receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown. The clear No. 2 option behind Mike Williams in the passing game, Palmer’s skill set makes him an intriguing flyer in a Chargers’ offense that should have no issue scoring points this season.

The main question about Palmer is the availability of Allen, who may be able to return for Week 3 after getting an extra 10 days to rest his hamstring. Palmer would be downgraded to a bench option if Allen is active but hamstrings are tricky injuries that can get aggravated if you’re not careful.

Rostered in 27 percent of Yahoo leagues, Palmer is a good stash option that will have flex value if Allen or Williams suffers an injury later in the season. Justin Herbert is also so good that he may be able to offer some standalone value to Palmer even if everyone is healthy, making this a good speculative play.
