2022 NFL power rankings, Week 3: Bills roll, Raiders stunned
The Eagles’ offense had its way with the Lions last Sunday at Detroit. But Nick Sirianni’s team had to hold on for a 38-35 victory. Next up was another NFC North team as the Vikings visited Philadelphia on Monday night.
Once again, Philadelphia had few problems moving the football. The Birds rolled up 347 total yards and 24 points in the first half. Jalen Hurts threw for 333 yards and one score (1 interception) and ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Under Andy Reid dating back to 2013, the Chiefs owned a 13-5 record over the rival Chargers as the teams met on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The reigning AFC West champions would trail the Bolts, 10-0, in the second quarter before Patrick Mahomes warmed up.
He would throw for 235 yards and two scores. But Jaylen Watson picked off Justin Herbert in the fourth quarter and took the prize 99 yards to give the Chiefs the lead for good.
The defending AFC East champions had a little extra time to prepare for their Monday night visit from the Titans. And Sean McDermott’s club was impressive once again. Josh Allen threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns, three to Stefon Diggs.
The Buffalo defense limited Derrick Henry to 25 yards on 13 carries. And the Bills wound up with four takeaways. The defending AFC East champions have won their first two games by a combined 72-17 score.
