Behold! The longest active winning streaks in college football entering Week 4 of the season!

Just when you thought you knew what’s up in the college football world, did you even know that these teams were riding awesome winning streaks, bruh?

While most people know that Georgia won the national championship and has looked like a total wagon through the first three weeks of the season, the Dawgs have only won five games in a row. They lost their only game last year to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. Although five wins is a solid streak, there are five programs who actually have Georgia beat here.

Behold! The longest active winning streaks in all of college football, where only the finest survive!

College football: Longest active winning streaks entering Week 4 of 2022 season

These 13 college football teams have an active winning streak of four games or more at this time.

  • Clemson Tigers: 9
  • Kentucky Wildcats: 7
  • Coastal Carolina Chanticleers: 6
  • Minnesota Golden Gophers: 6
  • UCLA Bruins: 6
  • Arkansas Razorbacks: 5
  • Georgia Bulldogs: 5
  • Maryland Terrapins: 5
  • North Carolina State Wolfpack: 5
  • Ohio State Buckeyes: 4
  • Oklahoma Sooners: 4
  • Oklahoma State Cowboys: 4
  • Wake Forest Demon Deacons: 4

Well, what do you know? Little ole Clemson has the longest active winning streak in the land at nine games. Although the 2021 Tigers went 10-3 a season ago, they have not lost since Oct. 23 at Pittsburgh. Their two other last season came on Labor Day Weekend to Georgia in Charlotte and at North Carolina State a few weeks later in the Textile Bowl in Raleigh. Clemson is sneaky-good.

Should Clemson lose at Wake Forest on Saturday (which is totally possible because Wake is rocking a four-game winning streak, won the ACC Atlantic a year ago and has Sam Hartman back at quarterback for this early-afternoon home game), the Kentucky Wildcats will presumably have the longest active winning streak. It is at seven games now, but they should beat Northern Illinois.

UK has not dropped a game since midseason last year. The Wildcats lost three rivalry games in a row (at Georgia, at Mississippi State and vs. Tennessee). They finished the season on a four-game winning streak, including an impressive Citrus Bowl victory over a not-so-sexy Iowa down in Orlando. Coastal Carolina, Minnesota and UCLA are riding six-game winning streaks of their own.

Interestingly enough, either North Carolina State or UCLA should not be on this list, as they were supposed to play in the Holiday Bowl last bowl season, but COVID got the best of Chip Kelly’s boys. Just look at the Bruins Chase Daniel finessing their way to a six-game winning streak. That might end soon, but their winning streak is for at the moment longer than the Georgia flipping Bulldogs!

Of the teams listed out by Brett McMurphy of the Action Network, a handful have serious College Football Playoff aspirations. Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma are obvious bets, but Arkansas, Kentucky, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State and Wake Forest all have an outside shot. And let’s be real. We need to start giving Jamey Chadwell’s boys some love and p**s teal!

By this time next week, either Clemson is riding a 10-game winning streak or Wake put five on it.
