Aaron Judge had a humble reaction to hitting his 60th home run of the season on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

It was quite the night for New York Yankees fans and the team as a whole on Tuesday. In the bottom of the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Judge hit his 60th home run of the season, a solo shot, to bring him one away from tying legend Roger Maris’ single-season record of 61.

To make matters even more incredible, Judge sparked a comeback. The Yankees won 9-8  on a walk-off grand slam by Giancarlo Stanton after trailing 8-5 after Judge’s homer.

After the game, Judge was asked about reaching the 60-homer mark on the season. Judge talked about how much of a dream it was to play at Yankee Stadium on a first-place team.

Judge also joked that he had wished he hit the homer earlier in the game when he had the bases loaded.

The season Judge has had is nothing short of remarkable. He is set to become a free agent this offseason, as he and the Yankees were unable to reach an agreement on a new deal prior to the season opener. Now, he is not only on the verge of breaking Maris’ single-season home run record in the AL, but he could clinch the Triple Crown, a feat that has not been accomplished since Miguel Cabrera did so back in 2012!

Following the Yankees’ win over the Pirates, Judge leads the AL in home runs (60), runs batted in (128), and batting average (.316).

Make no mistake about it, Yankees games are must-watch from here on out, as you can get a chance to see Judge break the single-season AL home run record. It could happen in the team’s Wednesday night game against the Pirates, or an upcoming four-game set against the Boston Red Sox.
