Where will you be able to listen to MLB postseason baseball this fall?

Times may have changed, but for many, there is nothing like listening to baseball over the radio.

Sometimes it’s just better to close your eyes, take a deep breath and listen to your favorite baseball team play ball. Hearing the play-by-play and taking in the minds-eye picture of the announcer describing what’s going on on the field. Hearing their excitement or disappointment at the events transpiring makes you feel like a friend is telling you what’s happening on the field.

Fans feel a special connection listening to the radio broadcast of their favorite team. Many of baseball’s best moments are made only better with their favorite team’s broadcaster. Would Kirk Gibson’s dramatic home run in the 1988 World Series be as dramatic without Vin Scully’s or Jack Buck’s broadcasts? A Milwaukee Brewers game wouldn’t be near as fun without the voice of Bob Uecker. John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman are essential for New York Yankees fans. Jon Miller must be at the mic for the San Fransisco Giants like John Rooney for the Cardinals, Pat Hughes for the Cubs, Charley Steiner for the Dodgers, or Howie Rose for the Mets. The broadcaster is just as important as the team.

Where can fans listen to MLB postseason on the radio?

While fans can listen to their local affiliate broadcasting their favorite team’s play-by-play, MLB on ESPN will also present games via local ESPN affiliates, the ESPN app, ESPNRadio.com, and other radio apps. Marc Kestecher, Jon Sciambi, and Doug Glanville will be on ESPN’s primary call for MLB. TuneIn radio app premium is $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year and grants access to plenty of content, including team and ESPN play-by-play. SiriusXM and its app provide access to content, including team play-by-play, MLB Network Radio, and the MLB on ESPN feed. SiriusXM has different pricing available for in-vehicle and or app access.

The MLB app will have the team and the MLB on ESPN broadcast. MLB Audio on the app is $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year.

If baseball and the radio just appeal to you, make your plan to get access to these options before the playoffs begin in October.
