The Colts stunned the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in a game that resulted in criticism aimed at Chris Jones, Matt Ammendola and the entire offense.
After making it through two weeks of football unscathed, the Chiefs finally delivered their mind-numbingly ugly game right on schedule.
The biggest surprise is that it came at the hands of the previously winless Colts.
Matt Ryan and company bested Kansas City with a 16-play, 8-minute drive capped by a touchdown with 24 seconds remaining in the game.

As soon as Mahomes was intercepted to end it, Twitter went off on the performance.

the chiefs losing to the colts is like giving your little brother a playstation controller that isn’t plugged in and he beats you by 30 with a blindfold on.

People will chalk this Chiefs game off as a fluke. The offense isn't a fluke right now. They can't execute their way out of a paper bag.

Chris Jones might want to skip the locker room and go straight to the bus in his uniform after costing the Chiefs the game.

Questions about the offense. More questions about the special teams. And one really burning question:

What the heck did Chris Jones say to Matt Ryan?
The Colts gave everyone the blueprint to beating Kansas City: play terrible on offense and devote 100% of your practice time trying to get an edge on special teams

What did Chris Jones say to cause the taunting penalty after the sack. If what you say is taunting, then Tom Brady should get 10 of those personal fouls a game. What could he have possibly said to Matt Ryan. Indianapolis is just a weak team and the @Chiefs lost! Sad! pic.twitter.com/V2RPh2hq5u

Dave Toub & the rest of the special teams unit can walk back to KC and Matt Ammendola shouldn’t be able to kick a football for as long as he lives

The Colts beating the Chiefs is exactly why we say ANY GIVEN SUNDAY any Team can beat you. Colts have been struggling and today they found a way to stop the run, create turnovers and beat one of the best Teams in the NFL.

It's an annual tradition: once a year the Chiefs make a dozen stupid and inexplicable mistakes, and excruciatingly lose a game they should have won easily. And I'll say today what I say once a year: at least it wasn't a playoff game.

The Colts deserve a lot of credit for their fight even after starting the season 1-1 with a shutout loss to the Jaguars and a tie against the Texans. They took it to the Chiefs and got rewarded for it.
However, the aftermath of the contest definitely focused on the deficiencies of Kansas City’s offense. Mahomes was pressured regularly while the run game was abysmal. The quarterback led the team with 26 yards on four carries. Jerick McKinnon had just 20 yards on seven carries while Clyde Edwards-Helaire ended up with zero yards on seven carries.
While Travis Kelce caught a touchdown, the receiving corps wasn’t up for it. JuJu Smith-Schuster led the way with five catches for 89 yards. There simply weren’t enough playmakers available to Mahomes.
Special teams was terrible as well. Skyy Moore muffed a punt to set up Indianapolis’ first touchdown. Kicker Matt Amendola missed a chipshot field goal. They attempted, and failed, a fake field goal. It was just a mess.
For Chiefs fans, the hope is that this is just one of those early-season speed bumps and not a sign of deeper problems on offense and special teams.
