Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez saw a play in the Miami Dolphins game that reminded him of some of his own plays. In Miami’s Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills, a Dolphins player punted the ball straight into the butt of a teammate, putting the ball right back into the Bills possession.

Sanchez is no stranger to such plays. He had his own iconic fumble that was remembered ever since. Back in 2012, he had a fumble on a player’s butt. The situation resonated with him, and he had a hilarious reaction.

Sanchez quote Tweeted a video of the Dolphins play and wrote, “Woah… stay out of my lane bro @thomasmorstead #NFL.”

He started the trend of the odd plays, and it’s absolutely meme-worthy that another player has recreated the play.

Dolphins player defied the odds of recreating Mark Sanchez’s funny play

It’s no secret that football players invade each other’s personal space all the time. After all, that is a huge part of the game. However, it’s not typical for a player to punt or fumble a ball directly into a teammate’s butt and cost their team success.

The Dolphins managed to do so. Even though they still won the game (barely) with a final score of 21-19, the play almost cost them the game. It was, however, unexpected and hilarious. In the midst of a competitive game between two huge AFC East rivals, it was a moment to help fans unwind from the stress for a brief moment.
