NBA Season Preview 2022-23: Every team’s current longest-tenured player
By Luke Anton
San Antonio Spurs: Jakob Poeltl, 4 years
During the summer of 2018, the Spurs traded a disgruntled Kawhi Leonard (along with Danny Green) to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a 2019 first-round pick. That pick was used to draft Keldon Johnson at No. 29. Poeltl and Johnson are the only Spurs remaining from San Antonio’s 2019-20 roster.
Poeltl is entering the final year of his current contract, and he’s been included in many trade rumors as the Spurs appear ready to tank like it’s 1996-97.
