5 bold predictions for Cowboys against Commanders
The Cowboys host Washington this week in what should be their last game without Dak Prescott. Here’s how Dallas will perform in the divisional clash.
Dak Prescott plans to return for the Cowboys’ Week 5 showdown with the Rams which means this week should be Dallas’ last game with Cooper Rush at the offensive controls. Even better news for Mike McCarthy and his staff is that Rush is going up against a really weak Commanders’ defense in Sunday afternoon’s tilt in the comfortable confines of AT&T Stadium.
Washington’s offense isn’t anything to write home about either. This is just the sort of game the Cowboys need to win comfortably if they truly believe they’re a solid playoff team.
That doesn’t mean Dallas can afford to take Washington lightly though. This has all the makings of an emotional trap game ahead of Dak’s return against the Rams. Here are five bold predictions about how the Cowboys will win a close one against their long-time rivals.
Dallas Cowboys: Bold predictions vs Commanders in Week 4
5. Cooper Rush will throw his first interception of the season
Rush has managed to avoid the big mistake during his time as the Cowboys’ starter which is a big reason why he’s undefeated heading into this game. Predictably, the coaching staff will continue to give him more opportunities to make plays heading into this game.
The downside to that is that it will force Rush to make more complicated reads and tougher throws down the field. The prediction here is that Washington will force him into one mistake on a deep throw which will result in a turnover. Throwing one pick isn’t going to cost the Cowboys this week but it will be a slight blemish on Rush’s time filling in for Dak.
