Oklahoma State’s Almost Champions Big 12 Revenge Tour of 2022 is just getting started, y’all!

After coming up one yard short of their first College Football Playoff appearance, the Oklahoma State Cowboys avenged their heartbreaking loss to the Baylor Bears in Waco on Saturday.

Three cheers for sweet revenge! Although the Pokes had an extra week to prepare for a one-loss Baylor team, this game clearly meant a lot to Oklahoma State. While they both won their New Year’s Six bowls after the Arlington date, the Pokes had a feeling they missed out on something even more special. Alabama would have cleaned their clock in the Cotton Bowl, but maybe not?

Fresh off their first big win in Big 12 play, let’s all crank some Fever Dog in Stillwater tonight!

Oklahoma State gets sweet revenge over Baylor in Waco to start Big 12 play

Eventually, we are going to stop discounting Mike Gundy’s most glorious mullet and his incredible football program. With arch rival Oklahoma looking lost under Brent Venables and Texas already eliminated from playoff contention as well before toe even met leather on Saturday night, the Pokes are no joke, folks. They can not only win the Big 12, but they can make the four-team field.

This is a well-coached team that makes plays in all three phases of the game. They have an experienced quarterback running the show in Spencer Sanders. Although teams like Kansas and TCU have not lost games yet this season, Oklahoma State has the pedigree and more importantly, the experience to get to Arlington with one or fewer losses and see what happens at Jerryworld.

With the usual suspects normally sitting atop the Big 12 standings struggling, keep an eye on Oklahoma State being both dangerous and powerful. Last year was not a fluke and neither is this. Although getting to the conference title bout undefeated is tough sledding, the Cowboys are best positioned to do that of any team in the conference. I mean, they just beat Baylor in their stadium!

Ultimately, it remains to be seen how Oklahoma stacks up with the best teams the Big Ten and SEC have to offer. However, you are going to be hard-pressed to see a team that belongs as much as they do. While USC looks strong out west, the Trojans have a new head coach in Lincoln Riley, so we shall see. In the meantime, Oklahoma State will break its rusty cage to run the new Big 12.

Of course, the Pokes could lose a dumb game in a few weeks, but they now have our full attention.
