TCU made Oklahoma the laughing stock of college football as fans, media and official accounts alike trolled the Sooners for their shocking performance.
Oklahoma was already coming off a humbling loss to Kansas State. A lot of their fans thought it couldn’t get much worse than that performance.
It could.
TCU ground the Sooners into dust on Saturday, walloping them 55-24 while scoring 27 points in the first quarter alone.
The outing had Skip Bayless giving up on head coach Brent Venables and Oklahoma fans pondering their prospects for the rest of the season.

As for the rest of the college football world? There was laughter. A lot of it. In part thanks to TCU’s own social media approach, which was just aces.
Who hits 62 first?

The only other time a Brent Venables defense gave up 55 points was in the 2005 Orange Bowl against USC.#TCU did it in three quarters today.

#Oklahoma fans are remembering why they wanted to get rid of a Brent Venables the last time he was there. #FireEverybody pic.twitter.com/uWTt3CEiOj

Brent Venables' "new era" defense just allowed 237 yards and 27 points IN THE 1ST QUARTER at TCU. At this rate, OU will allow 1,000+ yards and 100+ points. This is beyond shocking and shameful. This is incomprehensible. This is THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA.

Who had more fun watching that game? TCU fans, Texas fans or USC fans?
It’s a tough one because it felt like every fanbase had a good time watching the Horned Frogs shut up the Sooners.
TCU quarterback finished with five total touchdowns. He threw for 302 yards and three touchdown while adding 116 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Frogs had four touchdowns of more than 60 yards.
It was an onslaught that Oklahoma had no answer for.
Sadly, the game wasn’t all fun. Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel left the game after taking a late hit to the head while sliding. In the second half, defensivve back Damond Harmon suffered an apparently serious injury while making a tackle. He had to be carted off the field on a stretcher after a long evaluation. Fortunately, OU confirmed he had movement in his extremities as he was taken to a local hospital.
