TCU takes out Oklahoma frustration on the poor marching band

The TCU Horned Frogs take on the No. 6-ranked Oklahoma Sooners this Saturday, and they punished the OU marching band to send a message.

Undefeated TCU is out to send a message not just to the AP voters, but the Big 12 as a whole. Facing the 18th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners at home, the Horned Frogs got off to a fast start.

Oklahoma is reeling after a loss to Kansas State last week in their Big 12 opener. Needing a rebound to prove to the voters and Big 12 foes that they are a force to be reckoned with, per usual, the Sooners must spoil TCU’s undefeated start.

That did not go according to plan, as OU faced a 20-3 deficit in the first quarter. TCU set the tone early, by forcing Oklahoma’s band to sit in the nosebleeds.

How is anyone supposed to hear the fight song from there?

In front of a ruckus crowd at TCU, there’s virtually no way the Sooners will be able to hear their fight song if they manage to get into the end zone against the Horned Frogs.

Brent Venables technically does not run the OU defense, but perhaps he ought to take over the play-calling after TCU put up a 20-spot in the first quarter. Just something to think about.

Oh, if only that were possible. Turns out Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams took all that winning culture with them to sunny Southern California. Who knew?
