Marcus Peters and John Harbaugh needed to be separated on the Ravens sideline at the end of Week 4’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Things got ugly late in the Baltimore Ravens Week 4 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

After seemingly running away with a win that would have made a loud statement in the AFC, Baltimore collapsed late and ended up handing the win to Buffalo.

It appears two things happened in the last disastrous four minute stretch for the Ravens that led to a fiery altercation on the Baltimore sideline at the end of the game. The first being the decision to not kick a field goal with over four minutes left in a tie game (a drive that ended with a 4th down interception by Lamar Jackson) and the other being confusion on whether the Ravens defense was going to allow the Bills to score a touchdown in order to give the ball back to Lamar and the offense.

Buffalo was able to take advantage of the confusion — and the softness of a gassed defense — to bleed the clock out and hit a game-winning chip shot field goal. Needless to say, there was as much chaos on the Ravens sideline as there was on the field.

CBS cameras caught a heated Marcus Peters needing to be held back while he screamed in the direction of John Harbaugh.

As he was escorted off the field, Peters threw his helmet in frustration.

There’s a lot of context to the boiling over of the frustrations Ravens players had near the end of the game.

Earlier on 4th down with the game tied 20-20 and the ball within yards of the endzone, John Harbaugh decided to pass on a field goal and put the ball in Lamar Jackson’s hands. The attempt ended in an interception which not only meant the Ravens didn’t get points but gave the Bills the ball at their own 20 by way of a touchback.

There was still 4:15 left in the game, so it wasn’t as though the decision directly led to the Ravens running out of time. There’s blame to be put on the defense for allowing the Bills to march down the field and get into a position to score, but that position was vastly different in a game that was still tied versus one where Baltimore is leading.
