The New Orleans Saints debuted new black helmets for their London game on Sunday, and NFL Twitter didn’t hold back their thoughts on them.

The official Saints Twitter account posted a photo of the new helmet with the caption, “Black helmets make their #SaintsGameday debut.” The helmet is quite simple, just jet black with the gold Saints logo on the sides. Such a simple design, however, is getting quite a few negative reactions.

It seems as though the majority of people aren’t too fond of the special design.

NFL Twitter reacts to the London game Saints helmets

Many aren’t fans of the helmets. One fan wrote, “These helmets are a huge L.”

Others think the color scheme could’ve been better. One replied, “should’ve been white helmets.”

Some see similarities to the Atlanta Falcons, who have essentially the same helmet with their own logo. A fan wrote, “They so want to be the @AtlantaFalcons.”

Some, however, seem to be fans of the helmet. One fan replied with a gif, saying the helmet is “fire.”

One replied with approval, stating, “Super slick.”

Some think they’re better than the original, as shown through a response stating, “Better than the regular.”

The first international game of the season calls for some special tweaks to the uniform, and debuting a new helmet is a good way to kick off the game. It may not have gotten the reactions the Saints were hoping for, but it stood out nonetheless.
