With the Auburn Tigers looming on the schedule, the Georgia Bulldogs will be without a star defender for the game, defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

Oh boy, the Georgia Bulldogs can’t catch a break. The defending national champions are about to face Auburn and will be without Jalen Carter.

The star defensive tackle and likely top-ten draft pick come April will be out for at least two weeks with a knee injury. This means #88 won’t be dressing against the Tigers, which is a concern for Georgia after their scare against Missouri a week ago.

Despite that, even with Carter, the Bulldogs’ defense isn’t as dominant as last season when they were crowned the kings of college football after shocking Alabama in the national championship game.

Jalen Carter injury puts tremendous pressure on the Georgia defense

With or without Jalen Carter, the Georgia Bulldogs will have a tough test every week. If a team like Missouri with no expectations can almost pull off a colossal upset, what makes Auburn a team with nothing to lose? Even more dangerous.

It’s time to get serious if you are Georgia. Carter is a talented player and will likely be taken in the top 10 of the upcoming NFL draft, which makes it a tough loss to overcome. Having said that, the Bulldogs pride themselves on establishing the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and those expectations will never waver.

The Bulldogs have a tough test awaiting, and Kirby Smart will not tolerate any excuses, especially given what this program has been through and the expectations that follow. With or without Jalen Carter, Georgia must proceed on against Auburn and continue to show why they are the reigning national champions and not the teams of the past that can’t overcome obstacles.
