The San Diego Padres are headed back to the playoffs after missing it in 2020.

The San Diego Padres missed the playoffs in 2021 after a disastrous second-half of the season and now, they are back for their second time in three seasons.

This time, though, they will look to win a few games in the NLDS and get to the NLCS or World Series for the first time since 1998.

San Diego Padres playoff schedule

Since the Padres do not have a bye in the new Wild Card round, they will play their first playoff game on Friday Oct. 7. For the Wild Card series, all three games will be in New York as they will face the Mets and they will be played on Friday at 5:07 PM P.T., Saturday at 4:37 PM P.T., and Sunday at 4:37 PM P.T. (if needed).

Due to the lockout to start the season, the regular season schedule was altered slightly to accommodate all 162 games and the postseason is no different.

If the San Diego makes it to the NLDS and play in all five games of the series, they will play on Oct. 11, Oct. 12, Oct. 14, Oct. 15, and Oct. 16. It will still follow the 2-2-1 format but there will be no travel day between Games 4 and 5, as there was in previous years.

If they reach the NLCS, they would start play on Oct. 18 through Oct. 25, if they play all seven games. They would have a travel day between Games 2 and 3 but not between Games 5 and 6, unlike previous years.

If they make it to the World Series, the regular 2-3-2 schedule will stay the same and the travel days would as well (after Game 2 and after Game 5). The World Series starts on October 28 and would end no later than November 5.

How to watch the Padres on TV

For the Wild Card series, San Diego will on ESPN.

For the NLDS (if they make it), the Padres would be on FOX or FS1 for all of their games. For the NLCS (if they make it), they will also be on FOX or FS1. If the Padres make it to the World Series, then all of the games will be on FOX.

How to live stream Padres playoff games

For Padres fans in North America, MLB.TV will not be available as a live option for watching the games. However, you can sign up for a free trial with fuboTV and watch Padres playoff games there.
