Georgia football can’t afford to keep on playing through cobwebs. It’s time for them to send a message to the SEC by thrashing Auburn.

The first three weeks of the 2022 season had people thinking Georgia might be unbeatable. Kent State and Missouri revealed that might not be wholly accurate.

Kent State never looked like they would truly upset the Bulldogs but they stayed much closer than anyone would have expected.

Then Missouri led Georgia until there were four minutes left in the fourth quarter. Even though the Tigers didn’t win, it was enough to drop UGA out of No. 1 in the AP and Coaches polls.

This week, it won’t be enough just to beat Auburn. The Bulldogs need to throttle them.

Georgia football can’t let Auburn hang around

Auburn isn’t a team that’ll strike fear into the hearts of Georgia fans or players. They blew a 17-point lead over LSU…Then again, they jumped out to a 17-0 lead over LSU in the first place.

As much of a dumpster fire as Auburn might seem, they’re still an SEC team and they’ll still see Georgia as an opportunity to make a statement.

Remember, Missouri lost to this Tigers team.

The Bulldogs are too good to keep getting into trouble with these lesser opponents. One struggle game is expected. Two is a worry. Three would be a trend.

It’s time for Kirby Smart to get his team to break out of their malaise. Show some pride. Act like champions. Auburn won’t have a chance if Georgia doesn’t give them one.

Honestly, it shouldn’t be hard either. The Tigers don’t have the players or the coaching staff to go toe-to-toe with the Bulldogs.
