1.. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Washington Commanders. Carson Wentz. player. 58

Topping the list is Carson Wentz of the Washington Commanders. The Indianapolis Colts had him for the 2021 season and moved on from him after they failed to make the playoffs. Needing a quarterback, the Commanders gave up draft capital to acquire him to hopefully be their solution.

He has not been, and that was evident in Week 5.

Facing the Tennessee Titans, Wentz did have a solid completion percentage (65.8) and a quarterback rating (102.9), but his turnover issues arrived at the worst possible time. Down 21-17 with less than a minute remaining in regulation, the Commanders were only a few yards out of the end zone. On fourth down, Wentz targeted running back J.D. McKissic. The thing is, McKissic was stuck in between two defenders, one of them being linebacker David Long, who intercepted Wentz’s pass to secure the victory for Tennessee.

The Commanders are 0-4 since winning their season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rest of the division are above .500, including the New York Giants. The Commanders may have to reach desperation mode to salvage their season. At this stage, Washington may be well off to make the switch to rookie Sam Howell.
