After rough starts, these three college football teams seem to have finally turned the corner.

Just because your favorite college football team starts the year off slow does not mean they will struggle for the entire campaign.

A big reason for College Football Playoff expansion is to allow teams who stumble out of the gate an opportunity to improve as the season progresses. Seemingly every other league and sport of note allows for that to happen. Thus, it is time for college football to join the party. It may take a few years, but we will get there soon enough. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the process, shall we?

Here are three teams who have seemingly turned the corner after slow starts out of the gate.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. FBS Independent. (3-2). Notre Dame Fighting Irish. 3. player. 819

After starting Notre Dame tenure at 0-3, Marcus Freeman has won three in a row

Initially, it looked like Notre Dame made a GOB Bluth huge mistake by promoting Marcus Freeman from within once Brian Kelly skipped town for Baton Rouge. Freeman had the buy-in of his players after only one season in South Bend, but the Fighting Irish lost their first three games under him: Last year’s Fiesta Bowl to Oklahoma State, at Ohio State Week 1 and home vs. Marshall Week 2.

After eking one out at home over Cal in Week 3 by the skin of their teeth, Notre Dame has won two more games under Freeman vs. North Carolina and this past weekend vs. BYU in Las Vegas. Although they face a brutal schedule the rest of the way, Notre Dame has a chance to be 8-4 this season, despite finding itself in an 0-2 hole initially. Freeman seems to have put out the fire here.

The most important thing Freeman can do is win enough games to keep the recruitment strong.
