No. 5 Michigan vs. No. 10 Penn State

Week 7 is the week that keeps on giving undefeated conference matchups. The one between Michigan and Penn State is the first that would feel like a “capital U,” Upset.

The Wolverines outrank the Nittany Lions and come into the matchup favored by a touchdown. However, they are far from impervious.

Michigan has made it through without a loss but they haven’t exactly dominated the opposition since Big Ten play began. They beat Maryland by seven. They slogged their way to a 27-14 win over Iowa and they led Indiana by just one score going into the fourth quarter of that victory.

Maybe, just maybe, the Wolverines are vulnerable. Penn State needs to prove it.

James Franklin’s team is undefeated but unproven. Their big win over Auburn was impressive. The Tigers have only taken the sheen off with their struggles since.

With Ohio State on a bye week, both the Wolverines and the Nittany Lions have the chance to make a statement in the Big Ten East.
