The Atlanta Braves have a lot of players that may not be returning to the team in 2023.

The Atlanta Braves have locked up a lot of their core pieces for the future in the last couple of years.

Since they have done that they have outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., second baseman Ozzie Albies, first baseman Matt Olson, outfielder Michael Harris II, third baseman Austin Riley, starting pitcher Kyle Wright, starting pitcher Spencer Strider, and catcher William Contreras all under contract through at least 2026 and many of them are on team options for after that.

However, the 2021 World Series Champions still have a few players that will likely be moving on from Atlanta this offseason.

Here are three Atlanta Braves who won’t be back in the 2023 season.

3 Atlanta Braves who won’t be back next season

1) Braves outfielder Robbie Grossman – Cincinnati Reds

The Atlanta Braves acquired Robbie Grossman at the trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers.

He was acquired to give the Braves some outfield insurance after Adam Duvall’s season-ending injury and Eddie Rosario was injured and has struggled since. He struggled with the Tigers and has been better with the Braves … but still not great.

Grossman, 33, has hit .217/.306/.370 with five home runs, 22 RBI, and an OPS+ of 89 with the Braves. With his age, Grossman will likely only get a one-year deal from a team but the Braves have a lot of outfielders. They already have the aforementioned Acuña, Harris, Rosario, Marcell Ozuna, and Guillermo Heredia on their roster plus their No. 11 prospect outfielder Justyn-Henry
Malloy in Triple-A.

A team that won’t be in contention, like the Cincinnati Reds, will probably sign him and then use him as trade bait at the trade deadline next season.
