Peyton Manning joined the Tennessee fans who stormed the field with a cigar celebrating the Volunteers’ victory over Alabama.

There will be a lot of celebratory cigars lit up in Knoxville tonight after the Volunteers upset Alabama in a thrilling game that will launch them into the college football playoff discussion.

Ex-Vols quarterback Peyton Manning already has one of them in hand.

The Tennessee legend was on the field at Neyland Stadium as fans stormed the field with a cigar, ready to live things up after watching his team triumph.

Peyton Manning enjoyed a victory cigar after Tennessee beat Alabama

Tennessee fans have been dreaming of this moment for almost two decades. The last time they beat Alabama was in 2006. They have had a whole bunch of frustration against the Crimson Tide since.

This year, it really felt like the team was taking out all their frustration on their opponents. Tennessee dominated the first quarter, stunning Alabama with 21 quick points. Even though Alabama came back to take a lead in the second half, Tennessee would not be beaten.

When Alabama missed their attempt at a game-winning kick in the last minute, Hendon Hooker and company made Manning proud by quickly rolling down the field into field goal range. From there, all it took was a shot through the uprights.

Manning was 3-1 against the Tide during his Volunteer career, leading Tennessee to victories in 1995, 1996 and 1997. Those wins actually started a streak that lasted until 2002.

Neither the Vols nor Manning have had bragging rights over Alabama for so long, you can bet they’re going to enjoy this one as much as possible. Light em up.
