NFL Week 7 2022: 3 teams on upset alert this Sunday
1. NFL Teams That Should Be On Upset Alert In Week 7 – Denver Broncos
The NFL made a choice to put the Broncos in four prime-time games over the first six weeks of the season in an effort to showcase the team that added Russell Wilson to a ready-made contender. The results have been subpar as Wilson looks cooked while Denver has played putrid football under the brightest lights, including Monday’s 19-16 loss to the Chargers.
Head coach Nathaniel Hackett is already under fire for his questionable clock management and schemes while Wilson is now dealing with shoulder and hamstring issues. Losing running back Javonte Williams for the year was also a huge blow since he was the most talented runner on Denver’s roster.
Despite all of their issues, the Broncos are favored at home this week by 1.5 points over the 4-2 New York Jets. This line opened with Denver laying 3.5 points at home but has quickly shifted in New York’s direction, which is a sign of respect for a young Jets team that is overachieving behind a quickly maturing collection of young talent.
The Jets are 3-0 on the road and just dismantled Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 27-10 at Lambeau Field despite a mediocre effort from quarterback Zach Wilson. Denver’s defense is still very good but their offense will need to put together a much more complete effort to avoid getting upset by a rising Jets team.
