Chase Claypool trade destinations: New York Giants

The New York Giants only have one loss going into Week 7. If it weren’t for the Jets, they might be the most surprising team in the NFL this season.

The Giants have poor all-around receiving stats. They’re seventh worst in total receptions, third-worst in receiving yards, and second-worst in receiving yards per reception. They have just 5 receiving touchdowns all year.

Daniel Jones doesn’t exactly have Pro Bowl receivers to throw to. Casual fans probably haven’t heard of any of the top three receivers in terms of total receiving yards:

  1. Richie James
  2. Sterling Shepard
  3. Darius Slayton

Between the three, they have zero Pro Bowl appearances. Of course, neither does Claypool, but he’s undoubtedly a superior receiving talent to these receivers. That’s not a dig on these three guys who are obviously punching above their weight class this season.

The Giants are on the cusp of their first playoff visit since 2016. Daniel Jones needs an elite receiver to throw to, and Claypool could be just that dude.
