Here are what the wide receiver depth charts look like for the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants following the trade of Kadarius Toney.

There have already been a plethora of trades to take place days ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, Nov. 1. The San Francisco 49ers acquired running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers, and the Philadelphia Eagles trading for Chicago Bears pass rusher Robert Quinn. On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs were the latest team to make a splash move.

According to Jordan Schultz of theScore, the Chiefs acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants in exchange for a third and a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. FanSided’s national NFL reporter Matt Verderame reported that the third-rounder is a compensatory pick from the Chicago Bears after they hired Ryan Poles as their general manager this past offseason.

With Toney’s stint ending with the Giants after over a year, how do the wide receiver depth charts look for both teams?

Updated Chiefs depth chart after Kadarius Toney trade

Here is how the Chiefs wide receiver depth chart looks following their big trade days ahead of the deadline.

  • JuJu Smith-Schuster
  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling
  • Mecole Hardman
  • Kadarius Toney
  • Skyy Moore
  • Justin Watson

The top three wide receivers are mainstay Mecole Hardman, and free agent additions JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes Scantling. Smith-Schuster leads all receivers with 494 yards and 34 receptions.

Toney likely slots in as the fourth receiver on the depth chart, ahead of rookie Skyy Moore and Justin Watson.

It is important to note that Toney is dealing with a hamstring issue, but he has Kansas City’s bye week to heal up before their return in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans.

Updated Giants depth chart after Kadarius Toney

Now, let’s take a look at the Giants wide receiver depth chart, which has been the subject of discussion through the team’s 6-1 start to the season.

  • Darius Slayton
  • Wan’Dale Robinson
  • Marcus Johnson
  • David Sills V
  • Richie James
  • Kenny Golladay

The Giants wide receivers corps is far from stacked, let’s be honest. They do not have a single receiver to have recorded over 200 receiving yards through seven weeks of the 2022 season! Yet, they are still winning games behind their running game of Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones, in addition to their defense.

When it comes to the starters, Darius Slayton has become the WR1, following big performances against the Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Following him on the depth chart is rookie Wan’Dale Robinson, whom the Giants selected in the second round out of Kentucky. He has a similar skill set as Toney, with the speed to gash through defenses in the passing and running games. Rounding out the top three is Marcus Johnson, who started for the team from Week 6-8.

Ranking behind the top three are David Sills V, Richie James, and Kenny Golladay. Obviously, Golladay was the big free agent signing from 2021, but has failed to live up to the contract. This season, under the new regime of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, he has not been guaranteed starts. Not only that, but he is dealing with a knee injury.
