Houston Astros star Kyle Tucker gave the Phillies some bulletin-board material before Game 1. In his first AB, Tucker backed up his comments.

Houston outfield Kyle Tucker is known for creating chaos on the basepaths at times, but he contributed in a big way with his power early on in Friday’s Game 1.

Tucker hit a solo home run in the second inning of Game 1 off Phillies starter Aaron Nola. This was after Tucker said the following:

“Hopefully we just win in 4…. We’re hoping to get it out of the way early,” Tucker said in regards to hopefully winning the World Series.

A sweep? Sure, why not. It’s bold talk from most teams, but Houston has yet to lose a game this postseason.

As for Tucker, he did his part in his first at-bat of the night.

While the moonshot of a home run was impressive enough, Tucker’s bat flip deserves its own praise.

Kyle Tucker bat flip: Astros are up early

Tucker started the scoring in what could be a high-scoring World Series, especially given the power that both of these rosters have. Yordan Alvarez, Alex Bregman and even the struggling Jose Altuve can take any given pitch deep at their best.

For the Phillies, it’s Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, Alec Bohm and Kyle Schwarber who can do most of the damage, as the San Diego Padres found out the hard way in the NLCS.

it’s a long series, folks. Buckle up.
