Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher started Conner Weigman for the first time, and he torched Ole Miss.
The Texas A&M Aggies failed to live up to their preseason expectations, losing games to teams like Appalachian State, Mississippi State, Alabama, and South Carolina. In the loss to South Carolina last week, the Aggies brought in freshman and five-star recruit Conner Weigman to fill in for an injured Haynes King, and he performed admirably.
In Week 9, it was revealed that Texas A&M was expected to start Weigman at quarterback, his first start since arriving at College Station.
Immediately against the Ole Miss Rebels, Weigman made head coach Jimbo Fisher look bad for not starting him for the entirety of the season.
are you kidding me? we had Connor Weigman sitting behind Haynes King this entire time?? WE HAD A GOOD QB THIS ENTIRE TIME??!! #AggieUp

Jimbo should be gone simply because it took everyone else getting hurt to play Connor Weigman who is a clear improvement over Johnson or King.

Better late than never?
Weigman walked onto Kyle Field for the team’s first offensive drive, trailing 7-0 to Ole Miss. The freshman orchestrated an eight-play drive, where he connected with wide receiver Evan Stewart for a three-yard touchdown.
After forcing Ole Miss to punt on their next drive, Weigman only needed six plays to give the Aggies their first lead of the game, where he connected with Stewart again, this time for a 15-yard touchdown.

Weigman completed all of his first six pass attempts for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
It was a good early start for Weigman, looking to bring the Aggies back into the win column, something the team desperately needed to do entering Week 9.
