6. Michael Carter, New York Jets

The Jets got visited by the injury grim reaper last week, losing both running back Breece Hall and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker for the season. This will leave Michael Carter, a second-year player, as the lead back for New York (until newcomer James Robinson gets up to speed). Carter has been very good in the opportunities he’s gotten this season.

Carter takes on the New England Patriots, whose run defense is no longer the juggernaut unit it has been in years past, allowing 136.7 yards per game. Carter will have the backfield to himself for now until Robinson is comfortable. Take advantage of that this week and start him.

5. Antonio Gibson, Washington Commanders

The emergence of Brian Robinson Jr. as the starting back for the Commanders may actually have been a good thing for Antonio Gibson, allowing him to play more of a pass-catching, play-making position rather than an in-between-the-tackles bruiser. He’s been way more efficient.

Many fantasy managers cut bait with Gibson, but remain patient with him, as he’s fully taken over the pass-catching role from J.D. McKissic. He’s a PPR flex and an interesting DFS play due to his low price tag.
