The Houston Astros bounced back from a tough loss in Game 1, using an early surge to grab an eventual 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies and even up the 2022 World Series.

Houston scored three runs in the first inning on Saturday night, then made sure that the Philadelphia Phillies did not make a comeback as they did the night before to take Game 1.

With the teams splitting two games at Minute Maid Park, the scene now shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Monday night.

3. J.T. Realmuto

It’s hard to put the Phillies catcher on this list after he smacked the game-winning home run in Game 1 on Friday night, but Realmuto struggled in a big way at the plate on Saturday.

Realmuto put up a 1-for-4 line on Saturday, but his only hit was originally scored as a fielder’s choice in the eighth inning when Houston’s Jeremy Peña tried to flip the ball to second base to get the out … without second baseman Jose Altuve knowing the throw was coming. The mishap kept the frame going, but Philly did not score.

The “single” moved Bryson Stott to third, but that was as close as Realmuto came to driving in a run on Saturday, leaving four men on base and striking out in two of his four at-bats.
