Tennessee lineman Jerome Carvin got a little too excited while battering Kentucky, breaking a teammate’s lip with a headbutt.

The Tennessee Volunteers have a lot of things to celebrate this season.

They knocked off Alabama in an epic ending. They’re on the way to being 7-0 with a huge showdown with Georgia coming up next week.

However, head coach Josh Heupel may want to have a talk with his guys about celebrating too hard. Especially offensive lineman Jerome Carvin.

Carvin hilariously headbutted his teammate Gerald Mincey while celebrating against Kentucky.

It looks like Carvin just forgot that Mincey wasn’t also wearing a helmet. Mincey paid the price for that one. Ouch.

Carvin owes Mincey one for that, maybe with a meal or two.

The Volunteers had to get through Kentucky on Saturday to set up an undefeated matchup against Georgia. The Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the land. Tennessee aims to take that crown from them.

The Kentucky game did not prove to be a problem at all. Tennessee ripped off three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 27-6 lead into halftime. They tacked on 10 more unanswered points in the third quarter while putting away the No. 19 Wildcats.

It was another impressive showing from one of the most impressive teams this season. The next step is to prove they can get one over on the reigning national champions. If that happens, Carvin may be doing more celebratory headbutts. Mincey will probably want to keep his helmet on for those.
