If the New York Giants decide to move on from Daniel Jones this offseason, here are three quarterbacks they should draft to replace him.

The New York Giants brought in a new regime from the Buffalo Bills. Owner John Mara hired Joe Schoen as their new general manager, and then hired Brian Daboll to be their head coach. With any new regime, they would like to bring in their own players. The duo of Schoen and Daboll did not exactly have that luxury, as they were left with minimal cap space due to the spending of previous general manager Dave Gettleman. So, they had to make some prudent moves this past offseason.

Even with the new regime, Daniel Jones remained the starting quarterback for the team. He has played relatively well in Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka’s system, as he is making plays with his legs and not turning the ball over that much.

The thing with Jones is that he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, due to the fact that he has had his fifth-year option declined. The Giants do have the option to place the franchise tag on Jones, but it will come in at a hefty price. Of course, there’s also the option to negotiate a new contract with him.

But what if the Schoen-Daboll regime decide that they want to move on from Jones and target a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft? Well, here are three prospects they should target.

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State

The obvious choice is for the Giants to select Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, who may very well be the first quarterback taken off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft come next April.

Stroud has put up ridiculous, video game-like numbers this season for the Buckeyes. He has completed 71.3-percent of his passes for 2,377 yards, 29 touchdowns, and four interceptions in eight games this season.

While it certainly helps that Stroud is part of the stacked Ohio State offense targeting the likes of Marvin Harrison Jr. Emeka Egbuka, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Stroud has the incredible talent to make plays. He has impressive accuracy, can extend plays with his legs, and complete passes through unbelievably tight windows.

Given that the Giants have six wins on the year, they’re probably not going to be in the top five of the draft board. Stroud will be off the board before they get to the team that holds the No. 6 spot. If the Giants are convinced that he’s the quarterback for them, they’ll have to trade up to select him.
